Diego Fortunato Pescara (born April 4, 1943) is an Italian writer, poet, journalist and painter resident in Venezuela. From his earliest childhood Diego Fortunato lives in Venezuela, his adopted land, a country where his parents emigrated when fleeing of the rigors and devastation that World War II left throughout Europe. Since he was a child he was seduced by the arts and literature thanks to the passion of his mother, an avid reader and painter.
La femme en ochre, a series that in 1985 gave genesis to this type of works in pastel tones and many washes painted in burnt umber and raw umber, that is, toasted shadow and raw amber, recalling the ancestral Chinese technique of the water-based brush.
This painting is titled: La Faraona (The Pharoah) and signed by Deigo Fortunato
This painting depicts a nude figure with flowing, ethereal qualities, perhaps suggesting movement or transformation. The figure's form is semi abstract, blending into a background of earthy tones like yellows, soft ambers, and subtle greens. The brush strokes are loose and expressive creating an emotional energy.
